17/8/16 Aire at Banteux, northern France

After a long day driving north, mostly on the motorway, we found an Aire to stop for the night, by a canal on an old railway line.

Banteux is a nice village to rest for the night. There were two other British motorhomes here, after not seeing a single Brit around, it is a bitter sweet moment for us; We are getting so close to home and we don’t want the fun to end, on the other hand, it is always lovely to see someone from back home.

There aren’t any shops around, however, a short walk along the canal, walking over the bridge on the road that is leading to the neighbouring village, we found a little makeshift pizza van…

After a lovely quiet night, exchanging stories with our fellow British motorhomers, we welcome the morning with a patisserie van ready to start the day.
