Follow our journey as we tour in our Hymie around Britain and Europe.
We managed to fix our broken 5th gear with a little help from friends. We were apprehensive when it came to shifting into 5th gear, we held our breaths for that crucial moment…and it worked! Phew…
Driving on the busy motorway on Friday afternoon is never really a good thing. It seems like everyone had the same idea. We arrived in Lincoln late afternoon and followed the signs to the motorhome show. At the gate we were pointed to our club’s pitch- “Motorhome facts”. We were met by the club’s marshals. Water is there, Elsan point is there. Park Hymie and put the kettle on…
At the time of our late arrival, the exhibition was closed. Never mind, there is always tomorrow 🙂
It was a cold night, so we turned on the central heating…Lovely :). The following morning was a chilly start, but it soon warmed up. The exhibition opened and we went to look around. We love going to these shows, to meet other motorhome owners and look at what is new, maybe buy something new for Hymie. Our first stop was “Hill-view Awnings”. Lee contacted them regarding our awning. They arranged to arrive at our pitch late afternoon, once the exhibition was closed for the day. We carried on looking around stalls and new motorhomes.
We also enjoyed a wonderful little air show from the RAF field not far from Lincoln motorhome show.
First we were greeted by a Spitfire and a Hurricane.
An hour later a Dakota made an impressive appearance.
We waited for an hour for the famous Lancaster-bomber, but unfortunately it was a no-show 😦 It would have been amazing to see the Lancaster-bomber.
Hill view awnings arrived at our pitch as promised, and fine tuned the awning, making it easy to work the 5 meter awning. Thank you so much Hill view awnings.
We enjoyed a nice chilled out evening, us, other motorhome owners and the stars. Perfect.
On Sunday morning, we decided to go for another walk around the exhibition, we may have missed a few stalls the day before.
We enjoyed our stay and the company and the weather was fantastic. Maybe we’ll see you at another motorhome show next year 🙂
